Mentoring through Sport

The aim of the Mentoring through Sport short course is to introduce learners to the principles of mentoring from a young age.

Calling Education has a well-developed network of organisations that mentor youth effectively through the vehicle of sport.  When learners graduate from Calling Academy, they need to have a framework for what mentoring is and how to multiply its effect in others.

Presentation partners in this short course are still being developed, but will include:

Casper Steenkamp Casper studied in the USA after completing his high school career as one of the best tennis players in South Africa in his age group. He is the CEO of Kingdom DNA; an organisation that mentors and develops youth through sport.
Godfrey Mmagawo Godfrey got involved in using sport for social impact while studying Criminology. His vibrant personality and solid character are an inspiration to the children and youth he works with as a Project Manager at Sport for Christ Action South Africa (SCAS).
Quinton Allies Quinton is a former SAFA national team coach and one of the founders of futsal in South Africa. He completed multiple FIFA and CAF coaching courses. He is known for using futsal to address South Africa’s social issues. He is the Director of Coaching at training4changeS where he co-founded the School Futsal Initiative and Skills4Life Employability Initiative.
Meshack Lefifi Meshack is a graduate of the International Sport Leadership School, an organisation that has trained leaders from 120 countries. After a career at Sanlam, he became actively involved in mentoring boys through soccer coaching in Eersterivier.
